David F. Halpern, DMD, FAGD
Dr. David F. Halpern has been practicing in Columbia, Maryland since 1982. He received his B.A. from Franklin and Marshall College in 1972 and an M.S. from Rutgers Graduate School in 1974. He received his DMD from Farleigh Dickinson University School of Dentistry in 1978 and completed a general practice residency at Sinai Hospital of Baltimore.
Dr. Halpern has devoted significant time in his career as a volunteer leader. He has been a life-long member of the American Dental Association (ADA) and has served on ADA National Councils and Committees. He is a Past-President of the Howard County Dental Association, and of the Maryland State Dental Association Charitable and Educational Foundation, receiving a Presidential Citation for his significant efforts to promote and enhance the oral health of the citizens of Maryland in 2012.
Dr. Halpern was the 2009-2010 National President of the Academy of General Dentistry (AGD), the second-largest dental organization in the world, rooted in its commitment of continuing education of general dentists. He earned AGD Fellowship in 1985, and received the Distinguished Service Award from the AGD in 1993.
He is also a Fellow of the American College of Dentists, the Academy of Dentistry International, and the Pierre Fauchard Academy.
Currently, he is the Chief Clinical Officer for the Array Dental Group.
Locally, he has been active in multiple committees committed to the betterment of the health and well-being of the residents of Howard County.
Dr. Dave’s interests include music of all genres with special emphasis on Jazz, Blues, Detroit sound, and Eric Clapton. He also enjoys sci-fi and fantasy movies, fly- fishing, and hiking.
