Dr. Parisa Parizadeh, DDS
Dr. Parisa Parizadeh (Dr. Paris) is a practicing general dentist, with a comprehensive understanding of dentistry and patient care. She is also well known for her attention to detail, with her recognized proficiency towards cosmetic dentistry. She received her dual B.A. from Stern College in Biology and Biological Science; and was awarded with “The Fifth-year Scholar” full tuition scholarship for academic achievements. Later Dr. Paris went on to receive her Doctorate of Dental Surgery from New York University School of Dentistry. Upon completion, she went to Kingsbrook Medical Center in Brooklyn, New York for her general practice residency program.
Throughout her education and career, Dr. Parizadeh has been nominated for, and received, many honors, certificates, and recognitions for her outstanding work and commitment to excellence.
She is a member of the American Dental Association (ADA), Maryland Dental Association, Howard County Dental Association , as well as the Academy of General Dentistry and the American Dental Education Association.
Dr. Parizadeh is active in her community, focusing on the betterment of the health and well-being of the people around her. For example, throughout her education and the years that followed, Dr. Paris actively pursued various volunteer positions including “Smiling Faces, Going Places”. She also participated in numerous instructive sessions at various schools to educate children and parents of the importance and effectiveness of oral health. Now working at Columbia Smiles, Dr. Paris continues giving back to the community as she participates in a variety of community-based dental education events.
Dr. Paris’ interests include music, reading, biking and spending time with family. She also enjoys creative pursuits such as painting. She is inspired by learning something new every day, whether in life or as part of her profession. Dr. Paris actively participates in continuing education programs focused on skill refinement and the latest industry developments, all designed to provide her patients with the greatest dental care possible.

Dr. Michael Hsu, DDS, MS, FACP
Dr. Michael Hsu is a board-certified prosthodontist, a dentist specializing in the treatment of complex dental and facial problems, including the restoration and replacement of missing or damaged teeth. A Maryland native, he graduated from the University of Maryland College Park with a B.S. in Chemistry and a minor in Classical Mythology. He then received a Doctorate of Dental Surgery from the University of Maryland School of Dentistry (UMSOD), completing an additional Periodontics Clerkship in his final year where he performed minor gingival surgeries. He continued training at UMSOD with a three year residency in Advanced Specialty Education Prosthodontics, whereupon he completed the American Board of Prosthodontics certification process.
Dr. Hsu is a published author. He is the recipient of a American College of Prosthodontists Education Foundation Research Fellowship for the study of “Dynamic Virtual Articulation: Precision and Trueness” which examined the accuracy and reliability of computerized dental occlusion. He intends to utilize digital tools as a clinician to usher in a new era of prosthodontics and dentistry.
Throughout his education and career, Dr. Hsu has been nominated for, and received, many honors, certificates, and recognitions for his outstanding work and commitment to excellence. He is a member of the American Dental Association, Maryland State Dental Association, and American College of Prosthodontists.
Dr. Hsu married his wife Grace in Taipei, Taiwan. Together they enjoy volleyball, camping, and board games. They are active members of their church in Elkridge, MD.
Dr. Hsu strongly believes that patients should be treated the way he would want to be treated. Accordingly, he holds himself and all the staff at Columbia Smiles to the highest standards of dental care for our patients.

As the daughter of a diplomate and a Guatemalan mother, Lilly grew up living throughout South and Central America, as well as the Caribbean. She enjoyed spending the majority of her high school years in Guatemala among her cousins and extended family. As an adult, Lilly lived in Japan and different parts of the United States with her husband during his 21 years in the Marine Corps.
With over 30 years of dental experience as an Office Manager, Lilly enjoys the challenges of managing the business side of the dental practice and engaging with every patient walking through the door. Over the years, many of the patients have become dear friends to her. Anyone who knows Lilly, knows that she is eager to help.
Living in Columbia with her husband and two golden retrievers, Murphy and April, Lilly is very active within her community. She enjoys volunteering with her church and her passion for dogs has opened the doors for becoming involved with a golden retriever rescue group. Years ago, while in Japan, her enthusiasm for dog rescue was fueled by her job with military kennels. Lilly’s hobbies include long walks, baking, scrabble and watching Netflix in Spanish.

Having been a dental hygienist for 20 years, Jennifer is considered conscientious, honest, and supportive by friends, family and patients. Jennifer makes it a point to personally know all her patients. Therefore, she’ll immerse you in conversation as she thoroughly cleans your teeth. You’ll find that time in the dental chair will pass very quickly. Patients find Jennifer to be easy-going and relatable.
For all her life, Jennifer has lived in Maryland, calling Howard County home for the last 23 years. Being a mother of three, she and her children enjoy snacking on cookies, preferably Italian. She appreciates being outdoors, walking, hiking, picnicking. A perfect day would include the mountains, floating on a lake, and taking in the beautiful weather.

Having lived up and down the east coast from Jacksonville, FL to Silver Spring, MD, and states in between, Derrick holds true to his Atlanta connection as he still cheers for the Falcons. Derrick’s interest in dentistry started early. He was fascinated that when he lost his baby teeth, they were always replaced with new adult ones. Now as a Hygienist, Derrick makes it a point to engage his patients in conversation, as he enjoys learning more about them. During hygiene visits he shares his dental knowledge, educating his patients on proper oral hygiene and the importance of regular flossing and brushing.
During his off-hours, Derrick spends time with his baby girl, enjoying all of her life’s firsts. He enjoys reading, exercising (martial arts), cooking and exploring different restaurants. His friends describe him as comforting and informative. They also know that a packet of Reese’s Peanut Butter Cups will bring a smile to his face.
